Here is the Support Information You Need to Know.

FREE UPGRADE OFFER!

If you like all the capabilities and pricing of the new XDS100 from Texas Instruments, but feel left out because you are still locked-in to Code Composer Studio v3.3, Blackhawk has the answer.

You can continue to use CCS v3.3 and a Blackhawk USB100v1 and we will upgrade your USB100 to the v2 for free when you upgrade CCS. Now, you won't have any reason to wait. Your investment will be protected with a free upgrade whenever you are ready.

The USB100v1 is the best and least expensive entry-level emulator for debugging TI C28x and C674x, but as you can see in the chart below, it has limited device support using CCS v3.3. To unleash the full potential of XDS100, you will need CCS v4 and the USB100v2.

So now there is no reason to wait. Buy the Blackhawk USB100v1 and use it with CCS v3.3 and then when you make the move to CCS v4, contact us and we will upgrade your USB100v1 to a USB100v2 at no charge. Simple! And remember, CCS v4 for the USB100 is free too!

The Blackhawk USB100v1 and USB100v2 are available from a world wide network of industry resellers for a Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price of $99.

Check the TI XDS100 Wiki Page for a complete list of supported devices.

  • The Bottom Line

The XDS100v2 + CCStudio v4 is the way to go, unless you have a v3.3 requirement (and supported device).

CCStudio v4 is available from TI free-of-charge for use with an XDS100 controller.  So, for under one hundred dollars, you can have an entry level debug setup (IDE + Emulator).  For v4 download information go to:  http://tiexpressdsp.com/index.php/CCSv4#Downloads

Note 1:

If you are using CCStudio v3.3, but not one of the supported devices, you can update to CCSv4 for the XDS100 (v1 or v2) at no cost.

TI provides XDS100 support under CCS v4 free of charge (registration/download of software is required).   Go to the following link for more CCSv4  information: http://tiexpressdsp.com/index.php/CCSv4#Downloads

Note 2:

The TI reference design for the XDS100v1 includes support for this feature but no one offers a product with this feature, except Blackhawk.
