Blackhawk Flashburn Application

The Blackhawk FlashBurn Utility is a very flexible and easy-to-use tool for programming the on-chip flash memories on a wide variety of Texas Instruments TMS320C2000 MCUs.

This scriptable utility follows the freely available Texas Instruments API and algorithms for programming C2000 devices with on-chip flash.

Supported input files now inlcudes COFF, Motorola, Intel, Tektronix and ASCII formats.

Description

The FlashBurn utility also provides an easy to use graphical user interface (GUI) if the command line version is not necessary. The GUI includes an Operator Mode with pass/fail indicators to simultaneously program up to 4 targets at one time. Using the GUI you can save programming settings into a project file that can easily be maintained and recalled for consistant programming of boards.

Another feature worth mentioning is our "verify only" option. This allows you to verify (compare) an already programmed board with an existing input file any time after it has been programmed. Other utilities only allow verification immediately following programming, which we also support.

FlashBurn integrates seamlessly with the Flash API allowing the ability to Clear, Erase, and Program the flash on the target device. Because the utility is scriptable, it can be incorporated into a batch or production environment very quickly and at minimal cost. This is due to the fact that Code Composer Studio™ is not required. Further, the PC’s in the production environment will be easier to use thereby eliminating complicated setup procedures.
