Here is the Information You Need to Know.

If you like all the capabilities and pricing of the XDS100-class debug probes from Texas Instruments, but feel left out because you are still locked-in to Code Composer Studio v3.3, Blackhawk has the answer.

Whether you are on a project that requires CCS v3.3 or you have not yet made the transistion to CCS v4 or later, Blackhawk can put your mind at ease.

Our XDS100v2 models have the ability to work with either CCS v3.3 or v4 and later. So you can continue to use CCS v3.3 and when you are ready to switch to v4 or later, your Blackhawk XDS100 hardware will do that too.

Blackhawk has removed the decision from the purchasing process. Buy either Blackhawk USB100v2 model and use it with CCS v3.3 or CCS v4 and later. Simple! And remember, CCS v4 and later for the XDS100v1/v2 hardware is free too!

The Blackhawk USB100v2 modela are available from a world wide network of industry resellers for a Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price of $99.

CCS v3.3 Note

XDS100v2-class products are designed to be used with CCS v4 and later. You cannot just use any XDS100v2 product with CCS v3.3. Please contact your XDS100 vendor for more details.

Note 1:

Blackhawk has added support for CCS v3.3 with our latest USB100v2 Model D unit.

If you are using CCStudio v3.3, but not one of the supported devices, you can update to CCSv4 for the XDS100 (v1 or v2) at no cost.

TI provides XDS100 support under CCS v4 and later free of charge (registration/download of software is required).   Go to the following link for more CCS information: Download CCS

Note 2:

The TI reference design for the XDS100v1 includes support for this feature but no one offers a product with this feature, except Blackhawk.

Note 3:

Blackhawk can support both CCS v3.3 and CCS v4 and later with our latest USB100v2 Models.


The Bottom Line

The Blackhawk USB100v2 (Model D or ARM) + CCStudio v4 or later is the way to go.  And if you have a CCS v3.3 requirement, Blackhawk can support that too.  Yes, the USB100v2D can work with both IDE's - no choice to make.
